Lausanne Soloists
With a name that symbolises both its local roots and its international dynamism, the Lausanne Soloists ensemble aims to bear witness to a generation of musicians trained at the HEMU - Haute École de Musique.
Created in 2019 under the impetus of violinist Renaud Capuçon, the Lausanne Soloists ensemble features the best string players from the HEMU, with several international tours and more than 30 concert dates to its credit. Promised a bright future from the outset, the ensemble regularly plays to packed houses, and each of its concerts offers an intense, lively performance that wins the hearts of audiences and the praise of critics.
Led today by cellist Xavier Phillips, the Lausanne Soloists offer current and former students of the HEMU the opportunity to enjoy an outstanding stage experience. Their primary ambition is to create a perfect cohesion between the musicians, giving rise to moments of sharing of the highest standard.
The Lausanne Soloists bring together around twenty string players from the HEMU, selected by competition, around an internationally renowned artist. This prestigious patron gives the group the opportunity to perform in Switzerland and abroad during two annual tours as part of concert seasons and festivals.
