HEMU Vocalists
The Vocalistes de l'HEMU is a high-level chamber choir made up of singers studying for their Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Thanks to its variable geometry, it is able to tackle a very wide repertoire, ranging from a cappella polyphony to large-scale frescoes with orchestra.
Gathered around specific projects, under the baton of guest conductors, the Vocalistes de l'HEMU aim to tackle works reserved for a professional choir. The ensemble's size varies from twelve to forty singers, enabling it to cover a very broad spectrum of repertoire. As well as a cappella works and works with piano accompaniment, the ensemble regularly performs with the HEMU Orchestra and other instrumental ensembles from the university. As part of the concert seasons of partner institutions such as the Festival International de Musique Sacrée Fribourg (FIMS), the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne (OCL) and the Opéra de Lausanne, the Vocalistes de l'HEMU ensemble offers its singers the chance to perform under professional conditions.
