PRE-HEM SECTION

Pre-HEM music teaching is a specific phase of musical education. It is devoted to preparing students for the entrance examination to higher music education establishments with the aim of becoming a professional musician. It corresponds to the English term ‘pre-college’ used in the reference framework of the European Association of Conservatories (AEC).

• For the Classical profile, teaching is provided by the Conservatoire de Lausanne, in close collaboration with the HEMU – Haute École de Musique. This programme is reserved for residents of the canton of Vaud.
• For the Pop Music and Jazz profiles, pre-HEM teaching is provided by the EJMA.
